Rocket From The Tombs - "The Day the Earth Met the Rocket from the Tombs" Album Released: 05 Dec 2011
Here we have Ohio legends Rocket From The Tombs album 'The Day the Earth Met the Rocket From the Tombs' reissued on Fire Records . The five piece formed in 1974, played only a handful of shows, never put out a record and 12 short months later called it quits. ln 2002 demos, live recordings and bootlegs were unearthed culimanting in enough material for an album which became 'The Day the Earth Met the Rocket from the Tombs'.

Fire Records are thrilled to have acquired these songs and proud to bring you this historic reissue of 'The Day the Earth Met Rocket From The Tombs'. Some may already be familiar with work Gene O'Connor (AKA Cheetah Chrome) and Johnny Madansky did in Dead Boys and Stiv Bators, while David Thomas and Peter Laughner played in Pere Ubu. Don't be surprised to find Rocket From the Tombs even more ballistic than their later work. These 19 tracks are fit for any Dead Moon or Stooges fan, for the uninitiated you can expect blazing nononsense rock, and for fans the songs you know and love available once again on both CD and LP. This reissue attests that Rocket From the Tombs charged proto-punk via rock songs remain unmatched 37 years on and are an essential addition to any music collection.
