MEMORIALS respond to the overwhelm with brand new single ‘In The Weeds‘ – their first new music since the release of their acclaimed debut album, ‘Memorial Waterslides‘ (2024). This arrives off the back of their world tour which included supporting Stereolab across the USA.
When life gives you lemons, make a dub/folk song! ‘In The Weeds’ welds these disparate influences together into a surprisingly catchy pop song. It shouldn’t work but it does. It is an anarchic, eccentric track that twists and turns, perilously navigating uncharted sonic seas. seas.
The duo say, “an anchor hitch is an excellent knot to use for attaching an anchor line, and a sheet bend is quick and easy to tie, very useful for joining lines of different rigidity. If this helps just one person it will all have been worthwhile.”
MEMORIALS will also be releasing a super-limited edition 7″ single featuring two other new songs, which are not available anywhere else. To break the ice, and because it’s what they like to do, the 7″ will be hand stamped and numbered and only available directly from the band plus a select few of their favourite record shops, from 12th December.
