The Chills win Grulke Prize at SXSW

Join us in congratulating The Chills on winning The Grulke Prize for Career Act, at SXSW 2019. The prestigious award was given to the band as they finished their tour in support of their recent album, culminating in the worldwide premiere of the The Chills Film at SXSW. Past winners of the prize have included Iggy Pop, Courtney Barnett, Haim, Spoon and The Flaming Lips.

As the band conclude their huge US tour, the Fire Films documentary will begin screening worldwide. Following the success of the SXSW world premiere, the film will do a run in New Zealand, followed by a worldwide release. The film charts the life-affirming battle between disease and creation for Martin Phillipps, one of the founding pioneers of the iconic Dunedin Sound.
