Graham Reynolds’ new album ‘The Portcullis (Expansion Pack)’ is out today

“One of the most unique and addictive albums of 2026 so far” – Loud and Quiet

Texas-based musician and composer Graham Reynolds (A Scanner Darkly, Before Midnight, Hit Man) releases The Portcullis Expansion Pack including a brand-new LP of music, an original dice game, new app and a cask beer in collaboration with the Skipton Brewing Company (pouring at specific pubs across the UK).

Following the release of The Portcullis LP in May this year via Fire Records and as part of the Weird Walk Record Cult, Reynolds crosses the threshold deeper into the lore of The Portcullis with this special expansion pack release.

The LP and game are steeped in the medieval age, a world of knights and merchants, almoners and thieves, where fortunes turned on the fall of the dice. Through percussive medieval textures, fretted guitars, brass fanfares, atmospheric strings and piano, Reynolds reshapes dungeon synth into something vividly his own, a fully realised world for the listener to enter.

What started as a soundtrack to an investigation into Reynolds’ family lineage, tracing his family name back to Launceston Castle, has evolved into an imaginative world combining, music, RPG, fantasy and merrymaking.

A new music video brings the characters from The Portcullis game to life – watch “Oxeneford” here.

A heady mix of dark ambient and dungeon synth, Graham who composed and produced the release creates an “ominous, stark environment that rumbles with sounds evocative of the natural world, in both its beauty and despair” New York Times.

Available on Limited Classic Black Double Vinyl.
