Vanishing Twin reveal new single ‘Tub Erupt (Cavern of Anti-Matter Remix)’

Following the release of their acclaimed latest album Ookii Gekkou, Vanishing Twin return with a brand new special Cavern Of Anti-Matter remix for ‘Tub Erupt’ to coincide with their upcoming live dates and US 2022 tour.

Reworking ‘Tub Erupt’ through the virtuosic experiments of Tim Gane (Stereolab/Cavern Of Anti-Matter), this nine-minute plus remix recalls Stereolab set against the rhythmic textures of New York provocateurs, Suicide.

“We have always loved Tim’s production and wanted to see what it would sound like when you mixed it with ours.” Cathy Lucas

Backed with ‘Tub Erupt (Impossible Square Mix)’ taking the listener on a Radiophonic Workshop excursion that was spliced and looped in Vanishing Twin’s studio in East London.

“Reverently synthesizing Can’s left-field funk, Piero Umiliani’s lush spectral pop, and the deep-space jazz of Sun Ra, Vanishing Twin transmit from a dimension where big-tent optimism is the law of the land.” Pitchfork.

The band’s most recent album Ookii Gekkou is a psychedelic pop-rock gem that continues on the trajectory of their recent releases while exploring new ground through incorporating elements of afrofunk, outer jazz, and avant-garde; all while referencing Sun Ra to Alice Coltrane, Martin Denny to Morricone, Can’s Holger Czukay to meditative Gamelan, or The Free Design, to library music of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Locked into their strangely-accessible groove the album is a history of ‘other’ sound, a crafted hauntology that evinces something completely new and different.
