Like fruit ripened through patience, ‘Sugar Stone’ holds sweetness and density in equal measure. A melting Precision Bass and distant piano stabs carry the music upward, suspended between gravity and grace. Cathy Lucas adds, “Sugar Stone is about how time feels to me right now at this moment in my life. It can be counted now at the breakneck rate of an infant’s changing eyes.”

Driven by a kinetic pulse, elastic groove, and fractured pop instinct, it feels simultaneously futuristic and strangely familiar—another unmistakable Black Bananas radio-ready transmission operating just outside the expected.
