Faten Kanaan’s new album ‘Diary Of A Candle’ is out now
'Diary of a Candle' is a consoling, melodic suite – with tender woodwinds and richly-layered strings touched by the hazy atmospheres of 1970s/1980s films. Its understated heart-on sleeve romanticism follows the rhythm of nature: it bends in the breeze, drifts through the air, and settles on the ground. The ambiance is not an escapism, but the re-focusing of a lens through which humans are no longer the protagonists. Instead, a landscape's intimate details become the central figures
Pictish Trail reveals new single ‘Torch Song’ from his new album ‘Life Slime’
'Torch Song' dwells in the uneasy space where love becomes a burden and silence feels easier than truth. A confessional ballad lit by the glow of a screen, it’s built on a lo-fi slacker bassline, sweeping piano chords and acoustic strums. Both intimate & expansive, it carries the melancholy pull of Radiohead, Sparklehorse and Grandaddy, while finding its own torchlit path through secrecy, doubt and renewal
